Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand power users in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Weather Forecast

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both states.

Safety Concern

Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
